The paper considers main regularities of differentiation and integration of research at higher educational institutions. Peculiar features of integration process development in the activity of the BNTU research division are given in the paper. The paper contains indices of the BNTU research activity in 2004.
ARCHITECTURE AND CIVIL ENGINEERING
Hydraulic investigations of the Dneeper water intake for Newsprint Paper Mill in Shklov under various water levels and discharge in the river have been carried out. Regimes of bed alluvium and sludge motions have been studied. The recommendations on intake channel scheme and its main dimensions are given.
The paper provides evaluation results of seismic effect at a blast-hole charge explosion near to industrial objects. Seismically active mass value of charges to be blasted in close explosion zone is determined. The possibility to control seismic effect of a blast-hole charge explosion is ascertained.
Dump formation process of hard halite waste in potassium production has been analyzed in the paper. The paper shows high cost of a salt dump formation and an actuality to substantiate number of ОШ-1900-110/150 stokers that are operating simultaneously. A game theory method has been used to substantiate a solution of the problem.
The paper considers an application of rotary drilling method with clean water back-washing in Stary Oskol Middle Devonian sands in Tolochin-city, Vitebsk Province. Advantages of this drilling method with deep deposition of fine and close sands with speckled clay and siltstone streaks are shown in the paper. The paper analyzes reasons that reduce specific well discharge in the drilling process and gives recommendations on efficient organization of drilling works under difficult hydrogeological conditions.
Laboratory tests on determination of reinforced sandy soil strength characteristics (angle of internal friction, specific cohesive force) have been carried out with the help of a specially designed instrument and proposed methodology. Analysis of the obtained results has revealed that cohesive forces are brought about in reinforced sandy soil and an angle of internal soil friction becomes larger in comparison with non-reinforced soil.
METALLURGY. МЕТАL WORKING. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
The paper presents results of theoretical and experimental investigations of peculiar features in formation of micro-structure and phase composition of protective (hydrogen-resistant) coatings of self-fluxing alloys and compositions on their basis at surface (high frequency current), solid (in a furnace) and laser flashings.
Optimum regimes of ultrasonic two-side charging of lateral sawing disc surfaces that ensure their maximum abrasive ability have been determined.
The paper considers methods to improve accuracy of non-rigid parts’ shape-formation at lathes with digital programmed control. The method for compensation of error components in a part shape across a longitudinal section by linear change of a minute feed within the coordinates «feed - machining length» with the subsequent approximation of any curve within these coordinates by straight-line segments is described in the paper. The paper presents an adaptive control system that sustains the specified law of cutting force changes in the path function. Some results of the experimental research are given in the paper.
INSTRUMENT ENGINEERING. INFORMATICS
On the basis of Navier-Stokes equations a mathematical model for calculation of a trajectory of non-metalic particle motion in a gate system is proposed in the paper. The model takes into account three-dimensional nature of fast-track field and buoyancy force. Taking various gate systems as an example and using mathematical model it makes it possible to calculate number of slag particles passing through the gate system in casting.
The paper describes technique to regulate speed of a rubber mixer that allows to improve significantly mixing quality in comparison with a control rubber mixer method without speed regulation. A mathematical model of a rubber mixer and an iterative methodology for calculation of computer control are contained in the paper. The paper gives graphic description of the system operation.
The paper gives results of experimental research on coordinate control of limited surface parts. Analysis of the method’s adaptability with due account of technological process reproducibility coefficients is given in the paper.
NATURAL AND ACCURATE SCIENCES
The paper deals with the investigation of optimum policy on a production-financial model of a firm. A method for formation of an optimum strategy which is based on the solution of an optimum control problem is proposed in the paper. For a special class of functions a cheap credit situation is studied, an analysis of the corresponding optimum control problem is carried out and it is shown that an optimum solution satisfies a main principle.
HUMANITIES AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC SCIENCES
The paper considers theoretical knowledge of economic scientists about essence and content of economic mechanism.
The problems existing in the considered field are shown and proposals of their scientific solution are substantiated in the paper.
The main directions of efficient operation of modem production are smooth organization of labour process, application of progressive norms and standards, organization of industrial process, production control process. In this connection the efficiency problem of higher level of industrial process organization takes a special actual significance. For this reason the paper considers such problems as efficiency of enterprise operation, level of industrial process organization and economic effect of its improvement.
The periodization of graphic symbol development in archeological cultures of Europe has been done in the paper. Analyzing changes in main elements and probable motives of graphic symbols Indo-European origin in a majority of archeological cultures has been identified in a great number of cases. The schemes of archeological culture migrations in Europe are determined in the paper.
Among all kinds of an ideal only I-ideal has a specific ideal regulative potential because the ideal has an object within itself. Being formed from the very moment of realizing oneself a human being the I-ideal is a basis for self-education, self-esteem and self-respect. The I-ideal acts like a filter between real life and deep impulses and reactions on external influence. The I-ideal contains spiritual values that have been acquired by a human being. Following the I-ideal a human being gains a sensation of freedom that becomes essential for him/her. The strategy of bringing-up and ideological constructions should be formed on the appeal to the I-ideal.

The paper substantiates the fact that with high inflation and high-interest credits calculation of annual economic effect due to introduction of the designed innovation variant is better to conduct proceeding not from the sum of the anticipated net profit and investments but taking into account profit increment (or economy of cost) and additional investments in the designed variant being compared with the basic one. Such methodological approach makes it possible to be more objective in estimation of economic efficiency of innovations and decrease the probability to take wrong decisions about expediency (or inexpediency) of innovation investments.
