The paper demonstrates that the process of twist LC-pixel switching can be associated not only with a reorientation of liquid crystal molecules in the controlling electric field, but also with the effect of compression of the LC-spiral to the central area through layer thickness. In this case the time of LC-pixel total switching is decreased by almost three orders.
Ab-Initio simulation of electronic features of sensoring nanomaterials based on rare earth oxides has been made by the example of yttrium oxide. The simulation method for thin films of nanometer scale consisted in the simulation of the material layer of the thickness equal to unit crystal cell size has been proposed within the VASP simulation package. The atomic bond breakdown in the crystal along one of the coordinate axes is simulated by the increase of a distance between the atomic layers along this axis up to values at which the value of free energy is stabilized. It has been found that the valence and conductivity bands are not revealed explicitly and the band gap is not formed in the hyperfine rare earth oxide film (at the film thickness close to 1 nm). In fact the hyperfine rare earth oxide film loses dielectric properties which were exhibited clear enough in continuum.
The paper provides a justification for application of elastic ring hubs with variable cross-section of ultra sound systems. The results of theoretical calculations and experimental investigations of elastic characteristics of annular hubs.
A computer simulation of the initial stage of stationary flame fire in an indoor area has been made with the help of FDS software (version 5). It has been shown that stationary and non-stationary heat release stages are present in a stationary fire according to mass burning rate. Duration of these stages depend on fire source intensity and its level. Non-stationary stage is characterized heat liberation pulsations which are irregular in amplitude and duration. The pulsations are caused by uprising of flame burning in the smoke scope.
The paper considers basic model parameters of a static imaging Fourier spectrometer for Earth remote sensing from space. Design of the imaging spectrometer model has been developed and images have been obtained in the paper. The images have made it possible to determine such parameters as ratio of signal/ noise, frequency/contrast characteristic and spectral coincidence of reconstructed images.
The paper proposes a method of taking into account accumulated and temperature errors while forming coordinate discrete grid of a linear stepping drive. An algorithm for determination of optimal quantization levels of control currents of drive's phases has been developed in the paper; it minimizes an error of positioning that forms correction files for application of a control system in the software. Investigations on stability of discrete grid nodes coordinates have been carried our with the help of a monitoring station for accurate parameters of linear stepping drive. The investigations have proved an efficiency of the proposed algorithm and methodology for forming coordinate discrete grid.
The paper considers an approach to development of methodology for complex modernization of a control system of power resources at construction engineering enterprises on the basis of modern information resources and technologies. An enlarged conceptual scheme of the control system of power resources has been proposed in the paper. The paper provides informatization principles of the control system and these principles are used for development of architecture for a corporative information and analytical system as a tool- technological complex designed for modernization of the control system of enterprise power resources.

The paper presents blocking algorithm for current protection during inrush process. The algorithm is based on the evaluation of the ratio of the positive sequence second harmonic current to the negative sequence first harmonic current.
Technical perfection improvement of microprocessor current protection of distribution networks lines is provided by introduction of asymmetrical fault mode determination and fault location functions in the algorithm of its functioning. As a result of computing experiment the basic indices of the technical perfection of current protection have been obtained in the paper. The paper proves high efficiency of the proposed methods that ensure selective and proper operation in the different modes of the controlled line.
The paper considers problems pertaining to quality self-assessment of educational services at higher education institutions. A qualimetric approach for control and selection of significant quality indicators for educational disciplines has been proposed in the paper.
The paper presents an investigation on transformer current protection with blocking against magnetizing inrush current in short circuit fault modes. It has been shown that the proposed magnetizing in-rush current blocking algorithm can be implemented in microprocessor current protections of transformers.
The regularities of semi bounded magnetic fluid drop deformation at simultaneous influence of magnetic and gravitational fields have been established theoretically and experimentally in the paper. The role of each factor in formation and deformation of the drop has been determined and direct proportions for calculation of its geometrical parameters have been obtained in the paper.
