Abstract

It is proposed to consider an aggregation of such active elements of town structure as multistoreyed dominants to be used as a basis for designing skyline of a large town on the stage of its general layout. Some interrelated principles, namely: spatial integration, subordination, nature consistence, succession are formulated for improvement of their spatial organization. Every principle takes down any general property of the network of vertical accents which is formed as a system. The obtained principles of the system organization of the multistoreyed dominants are checked while designing Grodno skyline.

Abstract

Competitiveness of modern building and road machinery is determined by a number of factors: ease of machine control, automation level of technological processes, construction machinery cost, operational expenditures, maintainability and productivity.

In order to improve automation level of technological processes for drives of multi-functional mobile machines such as universal single-bucket excavator and loader it is proposed to apply multi-circuit hydraulics with closed flows of working fluid on the basis of multi-positional valve.

Combination of a regulated reversible pump, elements of hydraulic automation with a new con-trol valve in a multistage hydraulic drive with closed flows makes it possible to control building and road machinery.

Formulas for identifying strains that appear in a spherical section of a linear-elastic half-space being loaded with a perpendicular concentrated force have been obtained in the paper. It is shown that the conclusions that are cited for this case in the text books on soil mechanics are insufficiently exact.

Abstract

Despite of application of modem materials and methods for construction and repair of asphalt and concrete road pavement, the problem pertaining to removal of surface defects and consequently requirement for effective pot-hole repairing methods still remains an actual one and it is considered as one of the factors that ensures safety traffic conditions.

Perspective repairing material has been obtained (cold stock-piled organic and mineral mixtures), which does not require special paving equipment, and which is characterized by a wide range of operational temperatures and excellent thixotropic properties. This allows to solve a problem to prevent asphalt and concrete pavement defects in the seasons of spring and winter.

Possibility of long-term storage period and all-year-round application of repairing mixtures increase traffic safety and especially in the period of emergency pot-hole removal on asphalt road pavements.

Abstract

The paper presents a developed methodological approach to obtaining economically doped protective layers and coatings made of diffusion and doped alloys. Metallic powders, wire, discrete chip waste serve as a raw material basis for obtaining the alloys. The developed theoretical and technological aspects of economically doped alloy synthesis have made it possible to work out a range of special protective layers and coatings for various operational conditions.

Abstract

The paper considers analytical methodology for effectiveness and efficiency of the system that ensures quality in production of ferrous metal rolled products such as round billets produced at RUE «Belarusian Metallurgical Plant».

Mechanism for building an informational model of product quality is given in the paper and it is based on functional model of process network. Model analysis has pemiitted to identify main reasons of poor quality and in its turn it will allow significantly reduce expenses while bringing new products to a commercial level.

Abstract

The paper proposes mathematical models for evaluation of specific energy expenditure and material grinding conditions. These models has made it possible to justify an efficiency of multi- operational grinding which is executed consistently using various methods of forced action on a material.

A multi-operational passing centrifugal mill has been developed and it ensures fine milling of materials with relatively low specific energy expenditure.

Abstract

The results of experimental research on modeling dental prostheses removal process are given in the paper. It is determined on the basis of their analysis that the best conditions for detachment of prosthesis from a tooth body are provided in the case when a vibroiinpact mode of fracturing a cement layer used for crown fixation is realized.

Abstract

The paper contains description of tool design which is used for rough polishing of balls made of brittle materials. This tool consists of top disk, which is fi-eely set on pouring bearing of the separator shaft, and a bottom disk with elastic coating. Theoretical investigations of ball kinematics have permitted to determine an angular velocity of the balls in the machining zone, value and direction oi slipping speed with respect to the tool.

it has been determined that even change of the position of bail rotation instantaneous axis relative to the separator is reached at equality of angular velocities of the bottom disk and the separator. When the top disk is freely set slipping speed is equal for all the balls of the machined lot. When the top disk is stationary slipping speed is significantly increasing however its value becomes variable and depends on ball distance to separator rotation axis.

The presented equations of ball dynamics in the machining zone have made it possible to detennine a cohesive force with the bottom disk, frictional forces against the top disk and separator. Recommendations on selection of machining modes at initial and final stages of ball polishing are given in the paper.

Abstract

The problem intending to ensure traffic safety in the zone of a railway crossing is considered in the paper. The paper contains analysis of accidents and technical solutions how to equip railway crossings with the facilities which are designed for organization of traffic and pedestrian safety in the Republic of Belarus. As a result of investigations recommendations are given how to increase railway traffic efficiency in such zones when trains are moving fast. In order to improve crossing designations at street-road network it is proposed to use a light signal working in the mode of yellow blinking when it is allowed to pass a crossing and make road marking of special configuration at the crossing approach. There are also other recommendations on modernization of technical facilities with the purpose to improve safety. At non-intensive railway crossings located beyond urban boundaries and settlements it is suggested to switch-on outdoor lighting at the moment when a train is reaching an approach zone.

Abstract

The following problem is formulated that by 2012 it is necessary to increase usage of local fuel types in power balance of Belarus up to 25%. One of the local power source is biomass. However, while resizing the formulated problem, we are racing some difficulties: unpreparedness of production, absence of special efficient equipment for production and transportation of wood fuel. Application of the available equipment leads to significant expenses that increases cost of the local fuel even by 2-3 fold. The paper considers the available technical facilities for laying-in wood fuel. The efficient machinery sets for fuel supply of biomass power units in Belarus are proposed in the paper.
