Mathematical Model for Calculation of Catching Dynamics of Slag Particles in Gate Systems

Abstract

On the basis of Navier-Stokes equations a mathematical model for calculation of a trajectory of non-metalic particle motion in a gate system is proposed in the paper. The model takes into account three-dimensional nature of fast-track field and buoyancy force. Taking various gate systems as an example and using mathematical model it makes it possible to calculate number of slag particles passing through the gate system in casting.
