WEAR-RESISTANCE INVESTIGATION OF CARBIDE AND CARBONITRIDE COATINGS ON ALLOY STEEL

Abstract

The paper describes investigations and comparative analysis pertaining to wear-resistance of carbide and carbonitride coatings which have been obtained on alloy steel from powder media while using conventional furnace heating and in the fluidized bed. Improvement of wear-resistance  has been obtained from 2 to 30 % during treatment process in the fluidized bed.
