Statistical Methods for Investigation of Mechanical Properties of Silicon Nitride-Based Materials Made of Ultradisperse Powder

Abstract

Hardness and fracture toughness of structural ceramics of^i3N4 - (A1203 + Y203) - TiN system depending on composition and applied load have been studied. Mathematical models establishing quantitative relations between these characteristics, material brand, TiN content, oxides and load have been developed.

Statistical investigations of the mentioned materials have made it possible not only to determine quantitative dependences of hardness and К on load and composition but to reveal character of their impact, to establish relation between hardness and crack resistance in the form of correlation
