STRAINS IN SPHERICAL SECTION OF HOMOGENEOUS ISOTROPIC HALF-SPACE BEING LOADED ON THE SUR-FACE WITH PERPENDICULAR CONCENTRATED FORCE

Abstract

Formulas for identifying strains that appear in a spherical section of a linear-elastic half-space being loaded with a perpendicular concentrated force have been obtained in the paper. It is shown that the conclusions that are cited for this case in the text books on soil mechanics are insufficiently exact.
